easy bay area hikes

Two moms with young kids, busy work and family lives and weekends packed to the brim. Life was speeding by. We needed to carve out a little time for ourselves, to unwind and find a footing. So we decided to head out in the nature. Find a few protected hours every Sunday morning to get our blood flowing and minds reenergized.

Every Sunday morning, we set out on a hike somewhere in the Bay area of California. We start early, a little before sunrise. We pack ourselves some hot tea to kick the trek off. The hike is anywhere between 5-11 miles and takes us 3-5 hours. We try to make a good workout of it.

It is no secret that long hikes in nature are good in every possible way. But one surprising thing we learnt about ourselves was how elevated our moods stayed for the whole day, after we returned from our hikes. It-just-felt-good. No matter what came next that day.
